Net Ionic Equations

Postby 004932366 » Fri Jan 18, 2019 1:35 am

How do you write a net ionic equation so that you can use its results to calculate the equilibrium constant?

In general, the net ionic equation will be water + ion <=> conjugate acid / base + oh-/h3o+

That response is correct, but also for calculating K, you usually do not include H20 because it is in excess.

Net ionics just takes the reactants and only leaves the molecules/ions that changed from one reaction to the other.
