What does a small Ka mean verses a large kb?

A small Ka essentially means a large Kb, since they are inversely proportional. The larger the acid or base equilibrium constant, the stronger the acid or base.

when Kb is larger than Ka it means that the base is stronger than its conjugate acid. Or that the acid is weaker than its conjugate base.

if given the components of a reaction and a Kb/Ka, does a larger Ka mean the reaction entails the dissociation of an acid?

^ Yes, especially when dealing with salts a larger Ka would indicate an acidic salt
