Equilibrium constant

Postby Lumbini Chandrasekera 1B » Sat Mar 16, 2019 8:54 am

I know temperature can affect the constant, but what about the presence of a catalyst?

A catalyst only speeds up a reaction rate, but has no direct effect on the equilibrium constant.

catalyst has no affect on equilibrium because when a reaction is at equilibrium that simply means that the forward and reverse reactions are occurring at the same rate.

if K is about 1, what does this mean for reaction? How are the products and reactants affected?
