How do you determine the relative stability of reactants and products?

The equilibrium constant will tell you this. If K is greater than 10^3 then it favors the products, meaning that the products are much mnore stable than the reactants. If K is smaller than 10^-3 then it favors the reverse reaction and the reactants are much more stable than the products. If K is between 10^-3 and 10^3, then neither forward or reverse reaction is significantly favored.

you can determine it by the equilibrium constant k
