State whether the following statements are true or false. If false, explain why.
(d) If one starts with higher concentrations of reactants, the equilibrium concentrations of the products will be larger.

The answer is true - can someone please explain this? How does higher initial [R] indicate larger [P] at equilibrium?

The answer is true because the equilibrium constant K, stays the same in this case for this reaction, so if the reaction starts with a higher concentration of reactants, which means more reactants, the reaction will produce a higher concentration of products at the end, which means more product.

If one increases, the other has to increase with it to maintain the constant K. If products were to increase and the reactants stayed the same, K would increase. But it has to be constant.

Because at equilibrium the constant is consistent so if one is higher than the other would also be higher since that constant must be maintained
