### K being small or large

What happens if K is small and what happens if K is large?

If K is small, that means the value in the denominator is large and so there is a higher concentration of reactants than products. If K is large, there is a higher concentration of products than reactants.

Like the post above me said, the reaction favors the reactants if K is small. The reactants are more stable. If K is big, the reaction favors the products and the products are more stable.

If K is small, there are more reactants present at equilibrium, which means that the system sits/lies to the left at equilibrium and strongly favors the reactants. If K is large, there are more products present at equilibrium, which means that the system sits/lies to the right at equilibrium and strongly favors the products.

### Re: K being small or large

When K is greater than a 1000, the reaction strongly favors the products. Therefore, the reaction lies to the right so there will be very little forward reaction.

When K is less than 10^-3, the reaction strongly favors the reactants. Therefore, the reaction lies to the left so the reaction would b closer to completion.
