ICE Table Ratios

When doing an ice table and filling in the middle row for change, does it matter what ratio of coefficients we use as long as it fits the equation? For example, would both 2:1 and 1:.5 be acceptable?

I believe both work but a balanced equation should always have whole number coefficients so I would use whole number ratios.

It does not matter which ratio you use. Either 2:1 or 1:.5 will work and you will get the same answer for both ratios.

I don't think it matters, just as long it is in accordance with the balanced chemical equation.

The ratio does not matter, but using whole number coefficients goes along better with the balanced equation.

As long as the ratio is the same as the ratio of the balanced equation, it doesn't matter what the actual numbers are.

You'll get the same answer in the end, but I would choose the ratio that makes solving for x the simplest.

You would get the same answer but it is easier when using whole numbers to calculate--plus, it will then match your balanced equation.
