Post-Assessment-Part 3
For problem#20 in Post-Assessment-Part 3, what are the steps of solving this problem? What is the answer? What does the "c" mean in the "c+2x" which represents the equilibrium concentration of SO3?

Re: Post-Assessment-Part 3
Step 1: write out chemical rxn (balanced)
Step 2: fill out ICE table (use the coefficients to know the change, for example if coefficient of the reactant is 2, then it would be -2x)
Step 3: plug in equilibrium values from the ICE table and the given K value into K expression (make sure to square the values that have coefficients of 2)
Step 4: you can cross out the -2x and -x in the denominator because the K value is so small (this is an assumption we can make to simplify)
Step 5: solve for x
Step 6: plug the x value back into the equilibrium values you have your ICE table
You should get (D) as your answer: [SO2]= 0.522M [SO3]= 9.88x10^-6 [O2]= 0.633M
Also I just ignored the c, I believe it was just a place holder, nothing to plug in there :)
