intermediate values of K

Postby Mallika Singh 1G » Mon Jan 13, 2020 12:00 am

What are the parameters for K's intermediate values, ad what do they tell us?

When K is greater than 1, the mixture will contain mostly products, and vice versa for when it is less than 1. When it is about equal to 1, the mixture will have an intermediate mixture that is about equal with products and reactants.

if K is between 10 ^-3 and 10^3, the reaction is neither strongly favoring the products or the reactants. If K is greater than 10^3, it strongly favors products, and if K is less than 10^-3, the reaction strongly favors reactants.

And if K<1, the reaction favors reactants, with 10^-3 being the point at which the reaction strongly favors reactants. K>1 means that the reaction favors products with 10^3 being the point at which the reaction strongly favors products.
