Units in ICE Table

Units in ICE Table

If we were to use an ICE table, would the values need to be concentrations, or can we use moles when using the ICE table?

No, it has to be concentration. If you just use moles it will mess up your calculations when the stoichiometric coefficient is something other than 1 due to the ^n part of the equilibrium equation.

In an ice table, the units must be in concentrations. mols/Liter

I'm quite sure that all values inputted in ICE Table have to be converted into molarity (mol*L^-1).

The values of the ICE table must be in concentration because they will be calculated using Kc, which deals with concentrations.

All values in the ICE table must use mol/L, because data from this table will be used to calculate K.

I think that you can use either molarity or moles. It would definitely be easier to use molarity since that can be easily used in Kc. If you use moles, you would have to convert the values at the end to molarity by dividing by the volume(L)

Definitely use molarity which is moles/L. This is important because for the K and Q expressions work with concentrations and partial pressures, and for the most part the hypothetical experiments use varying volumes for their processes.
