chem module 1a question

Postby Mallika Singh 1G » Wed Jan 22, 2020 6:30 am

"If we make a reaction go faster, we can increase the amount of product at equilibrium" Is this true or false, and why?

Making a reaction go faster is adding a catalyst. Adding the catalyst only increases the rate of the reaction and does not increase the amount of product at equilibrium.

Speeding up the reaction would not influence the concentrations of the reactants nor products at equilibrium. Equilibrium is not affected by the speed of the reaction.
