Acid base titrations

Postby Elizabeth Bowen 1J » Tue Feb 11, 2020 12:21 am

Could anyone tell me the general formula/way to write out an acid-base titration? (For example HBr + KOH)

Thanks

In an acid base titration the acid is reacting with the base to form water H2O. Therefore when writing out chemical reactions, the acid and base can react to form water. Depending on whether the acid or base is strong or weak will influence the reaction however in the example HBr + KOH = H2O + KBr form because a strong acid reacts with a strong base.

Oh, ok thanks! Can anyone explain how the acid/base being weak or strong would influence how you write out . the reaction?
