Lecture Question
In lecture today (1/13) what did Dr. lavelle mean when he said CH3COOH was acting as a base (22:36)? I thought anything with -COOH was a weak acid.
Re: Lecture Question
I was honestly confused by that too because he then goes on by saying that the equilibrium constant for this reaction is Ka because we have a weak acid in our reaction.

Re: Lecture Question
Oops! I did misspeak.
Right next to CH3COOH(aq) is written WEAK ACID.
Definitely a weak acid. :-)
Most unusual for me. I need to rest up a bit this weekend. :-)
