I'm having trouble with question 3 on the first Sapling assignment. I attached a picture of my work. I think I set up the ICE table correctly, but I'm not sure because the equation it gives me seems different from what it usually looks like for these types of problems. If it is correct, how do I go about solving for x?

Your last equation should read 53.3 = 4x^2/(0.3-x)(0.3-x). This is because you are squaring (2x), not just the (x) in the equilibrium expression.

Once you make that change, you go about solving for x like we did in class using the quadratic formula

When your squaring your products, make sure you are squaring both the variable and the coefficient. (2x)^2 should equal 4x^2. Next, you should multiply out the denominator. Then, you should solve for x using the quadratic formula.

This is actually a very classical mistake when doing the ICE table! It should be (2x)^2, that is 4x^2, instead of 2x^2!

I did the same mistake! The numerator should be 4x^2 and not 2x^2
