Hi. When given the Kp value and initial pressure of the product, how do you calculate total pressure?

With the Kp and an ICE table you should solve for the partial pressures of the reactants and products, considering the fact that Kp is the pressure of the product over the pressure of the reactants, you can solve for x and then you can find all the partial pressures at equilibrium. Then you just need to add them together to get the total pressure.

To calculate the total pressure, you must use an ICE table to find each partial pressure of the system. Set the Kp value equal to the partial pressures of the products over the partial pressures of the reactants. Ensure that you have accounted for the changes in pressure that will occur when the reaction shifts to a state of equilibrium. For instance, the given initial pressure may decrease by a factor of 'x' when the reaction reaches equilibrium. Simplify the equation, solve for x (the change in partial pressure from the initial value), and add each partial pressure at equilibrium together to obtain the total pressure. I know I didn't explain this well, but I hope this helps.

When solving with Kp, you can set up your ICE table to solve with the equation you use to solve for concentrations to solve for individual partial pressures. From there you can find all of them and add them together for total pressure.

When you find the equilbrium partial pressures from your ICE table, you can add them all up to obtain the total pressure.

Set up an ICE box table to find the equilibrium pressures, solving it like a normal ICE box problem, and then add all the equilibrium pressures for the total pressure.

You can calculate the total pressure by simply adding all of the partial pressure values.

By adding all of the partial pressure values you can get the total pressure.
