### Question on a step in 11.61?

The problem says, "The equilibrium constant Kc= 0.56 for the reaction PCl3(g) + Cl2(g) -> PCl5(g) at 250 C. Upon analysis, 1.50 mol PCl5, 3 mol PCl3, and 0.5 mol Cl2 were found to be present in a 0.5 L reaction vessel at 250 C. (a) Is the reaction at equilibrium? (b) If not, in which direction does it tend to proceed? (c) What is the equilibrium composition of the reaction system?"

For part c, I got up to the step where we plug in the values into the quadratic formula, however i got (+4.92 + or - 4.84)/1.12 whereas the solutions manual says it's (+4.92 + or - 4.48)/1.12. Is this a typo or am I doing something wrong and if so, how do I fix this? Thanks!

Sorry I misread your question! But I got (4.92 + or - 4.84)/1.21 as well... So I'm guessing the solutions manual just had a typo and switched 4.84 to 4.48

I believe the solutions manual is wrong. I literally multiplied the calculations they had put together and they didn't even get the numbers they posted. I checked my math roughly about 100 times because I thought I was wrong.
