Kp Units

Postby SophiaNguyen_2L » Fri Mar 12, 2021 11:33 am

Hello! I'm studying for the final and I recall someone mentioning that you're only supposed to plug in pressure values in the bar unit in a Kp expression. If someone could verify this for me or further explain why that is, that'd be much appreciated! Thank you

hi!

I thought that you could use either "bar" or "atm" when it came to calculating with pressures.
someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Technically, the correct unit is bar, however, atm is very close to bar, so we can use both atm and bar when working with partial pressure.

Bar and atm are very similar, so we can use them interchangeably when calculating Kp.

Hi! I believe you can use bar or atm since they are very similar when calculating Kp

I use bar when calculating however you can also use atm, both are similar in value so either would work!
