When trying to find K and you have K constant such as Ka,Kb... can you just add the K constants that the question is looking for to find the K? For reference, I'm talking about question 5 from the achieve homework.

Not by adding, but by multiplying them together instead.

Hi! On question 5 on the Achieve homework, I believe that the K values are multiplied, not added. Hope this helps!

There are several reactions when dealing with polyprotic acids. For example, H2CO3 would have two separate reactions, in which one proton would be donated each time. For the second part of your question, I believe you multiply the Kas together because the overall K value works like it would in the expression Kw=Ka x Kb. You need to multiply them to get the proper K value.

Hi! You have to multiply them, think about values cancelling out after the multiplication
