How do you determine if a salt would form a acidic/basic solution (HW W2 #6)

If it's formed from a strong acid + base, then the salt will not lean acidic or basic, because there's no capacity for the salt on its own to protonate water via H+ ions - an example of this would be NaCl, which does not lean acidic or basic for this reason.
If it's formed from a strong base + weak acid, then the salt will indeed be protonated by water, and will lean the salt solution more basic.
If it's formed from a weak base + strong acid, then the salt will be protonated by water, and will lean the salt solution more acidic.
If it's formed from a weak base + weak acid, will require calculating the Ka and Kb.
