Difference between K and K_c on table 5G.2

Postby Reese R 1E » Mon Jan 30, 2023 10:46 pm

Hi,

I am confused about what the difference between K and K_c on this table from the textbook is and how we know which value to choose when calculating equilibrium concentrations/pressures at a specific temperature.

K is when you are calculating K with partial pressure. Kc is when you are calculating using concentration.

Agreed!

To add on, K will usually be denoted as Kp, so it’ll probably be more clear in future questions.
