Partial Pressure

Postby Charlize Choo 1G » Wed Feb 01, 2023 11:24 am

Usually when we are given a question with partial pressure as the units, the question says the volume is 1 L. So, we usually just put the given values into the ICE Table because dividing by 1 would be the same value. But if the volume is 2L, do we have to divide the given values by 2 and then put it in the ICE Table?

Or is this only for concentration type questions? For example, we need to divide the number of moles by the volume (L) to find the concentration.

Yes, you do need to divide the number of moles of the gas by the volume in liters.
