quick reaction quotient question

are liquids and solids not included in the reaction quotient

No they are not because they are considered as pure substances. You never include them in reaction quotient or when solving for the equilibrium constant

In theory, solids and liquids could be included in the equilibrium constant, though they would cancel with eachother because their concentrations remain constant throughout the reaction (same number in both reactants and products). It is simpler to omit them.
