Are solids and liquids not included in the reaction quotient expression?
I know they are not included in the equilibrium constant calculation but I don't know if it applies to reaction quotients as well.
Thanks!

Re: Reaction Quotient [ENDORSED]
Remember in class I said the expression for the equilibrium constant, K, and the reaction quotient, Q, are identical.
Therefore solids and liquids not included in both.

Re: Reaction Quotient
Pure solids and liquids are not included in the reaction quotient and K because their concentrations do not change throughout the reaction. Gases and aqueous solutions are the only ones that are included in calculations.
