Relation between K and Q

Relation between K and Q

Why is there more products formed when Q is less than K? How does Gibbs free energy fit into this equation? I thought that there was a linear relationship between K and Q.

Remember with K and Q products is over reactants. When Q is less than K, we know that must mean that there are more reactants at this point in the system. If there are more reactants, then the reaction will have the tendency to shift to the products. In terms of Gibbs free energy, the outline says that we shouldn't have to worry about 11.3.

And I think if there is a larger K than Q, then the equation is going in the forward direction (or to the right) because equilibrium favors the creation of more products?
