How is a salt formed?

generally in a neutralization reaction and an acid and a base react the products are a salt and water. For example when you mix NaOH+HCl=H20+NaCl thus forming a salt.

Salts are ionic compounds formed by a neutralization reaction between an acid an a base. They can either raise or lower the pH of a solution.

Salts can be formed when an acid and base come together and are neutralized, forming water and a salt.
