### Reaction shifts right or left?

Does this mean that if you have left-shift you produce more reactant and right-shift means you produce more product?

Yes, if the reaction is shifted to the left that means that the are more moles on the left side of the reaction which are the reactants. While if the reaction is shifted to the right that means there are more moles on the right side of the reaction which are the products.

Yes, shifting to the left means the reverse reaction is favored more reactants will be made. Shifting to the right means forward reaction is favored and more products will be made.

If a reaction shifts to the right, then the forward reaction is favored and more products will be produced.
If a reaction shifts to the left, then the reverse reaction is favored and more reactants will be produced.

If the rxn shifts left, that means that a forward reaction is favored, thus producing more reactants. If the rxn shifts right, that means that a reverse reaction is favored, thus producing more products.

Shift left means that more reactants will be produced so the reaction progresses to Q = K.
Shift right means that more products will be produced so the reaction progresses to Q = K.

When a reaction shifts to the right, this means that there is a higher concentration of reactants than products, so the forward reaction will be favored. (Q<K)
When a reaction shifts to the left, this means that there is a higher concentration of products than reactants, so the reverse reaction will be favored. (Q>K)

Reaction is shifted to the left: the forward reaction is favored (reactants).
Reaction is shifted to the right: the reverse reaction is favored (products).

if there are more moles on one side wouldn't it shift to the other to maintain equilibrium..?

Yes. Exactly that. If the reaction is shifted to the left, more reactants are created and if the reaction is shifted to the right, more products are formed.

Left shift means that the reaction is going from right to left, thus forming more reactants. The opposite is true with products. Just look at the written equation and whatever is left or right of the arrow is the direction of movement and what's being formed

Yes, a shift to the left favors the reverse reaction so more reactants will be made. A shift to the right favors the forward reaction so more products will be made.

Yes, this is correct. It is about looking at the concentrations in the Q value to see if the reaction will shift right or left.

A left shift favors reactants and a right shift favors products.
