Reaction Quotient Units
Does the reaction quotient "Q" have a specific unit if one is not listed or mentioned in a problem?
Re: Reaction Quotient Units
Usually we will assume the units for concentrations will be in mol/L if not stated, and the ratio of that cancels out the units. Therefore the reactant quotient is unitless.

Re: Reaction Quotient Units
You can determine the units by what will cancel out and if not than it can be unitless.

Re: Reaction Quotient Units
Since Q is calculated the same way as K, and is a ratio, it does not have units. However, as with K, we have to make sure the values we're plugging in are in terms of units taken by Q (eg. mol/L and not mmol/L for Qc).

Re: Reaction Quotient Units
Q will also be unitless since it is calculated the same way as K. Just make sure you are using the correct units for molarity.
