rearranging for quadratic

In the homework 5I.27 for part c, for the quadratic I got -2.92 instead of -4.92 and I'm not sure why. Can anyone help?

Sorry I meant to say I got -2.92 for b in the quadratic formula

The way to ensure that you get -4.92, is by first simplifying the denominator. Once you do that you can multiply to the 0.56 (Kc value). At this point you should be at -3.92. And then we would subtract the equation we get from 3+x. And then -3.92-1= -4.92

I've found that first simplifying the denominator is the key to making these problems go smoothly. Always start with that.
