How do you do 15b? How do you know what ka is and that the water hydrates the metal?

You can find the Ka for Al^3+ as Al(H2O)6^3+ on page 478 in Table 6D.1. I think you just assume that AlCl3 dissociates in water.

Ka should be in a table in the book. This problem tests 14A material. You're supposed to know that Al3+ can serve as a metal cation that can have multiple bonds (coordination compounds)
