How do you simplify a cubic function to a quadratic function?

We are not having any cubic equation on the test. If there is, you would use an approximation.

You can simplify a cubic equations if the K value is less than 10^-3 which might result in a quadratic equation or an easier equation to solve for x.

If you find yourself with a cubic function you can probably approximate.

If you are referring to problems with ka, then there will usually be a step where you can ignore the x, so that a cubic will not be needed to be solved. We cannot solve cubics without a graphic calculator.
