Percent Ionization/Deprotonation/Dissociation?
Is Percent Ionization/Deprotonation/Dissociation the same thing? It seems like the same way to find the answer, but I'm still a little bit confused! Thanks :)

Re: Percent Ionization/Deprotonation/Dissociation?
Percent ionization and dissociation are the same thing. Percent deprotonation is the same if a compound ionizes to release an H+!

Re: Percent Ionization/Deprotonation/Dissociation?
Like the other student said, they are the same thing in terms of solving. They just have different names due to what actually happens in the interaction. Deprotonation refers to acids losing a hydrogen proton to form H3O+ as a product. This term cannot relate to bases since they do not lose protons.
