How are acid-base titrations performed and interpreted

They are used to find the concentration of an acid or base. You titrate with a know concentration of strong acid and base till the equivilance point. then you can use CaVa = CbVb.

Acid and base titrations are performed to find the concentrations. When the titration reaches an equivalence point, this means the amount of titrant is equal to the analyte. Once the indicator changes color, the volume can be measured as well as the titrant concentration. Using these values, we can find the analyte concentration. You may have to use other variables such as pKa or Ka depending on the specific problem.
