How do we apply equilibrium concepts to ATP hydrolysis?

You need to know that this is ATP hydrolysis: ATP + H2O -> ADP + Pi
The equilibrium constant (K_eq) for this reaction can be expressed as the ratio of the concentrations of products (ADP and Pi) to the concentration of the reactant (ATP) at equilibrium.

Equilibrium constants should be applied when dealing with ATP hydrolysis since we are balancing between ATP and ADP (products of hydrolysis). The equilibrium constant (K) is going to represent the ratio of the concentration of the products and the reactions when they are at equilibrium. The enzymes of ATP can shift the equilibrium if they are promoting or synthesizing ATP.
