vant Hoff factor and equation

Postby Riya Shah 4H » Fri Jan 11, 2019 7:53 am

While reading the textbook I came across the vant Hoff equation and it seems really confusing. How important is it for this course?

If Lavelle or your TA ever goes over it, then it's probably important but I wouldn't worry about it if they don't mention it at all.

The Van't Hoff equation is practically just the relationship between temperature, the independent value, and the Keq, the dependent value.

I think Dr. Lavelle said that we are covering this topic later on in thermodynamics. The outline for the textbook reading given on his website also omits these pages!
