Why don't catalysts affect the equilibrium constant?

a catalyst only speeds up a reaction but doesn't actually change the k value. the only thing that can change the value of k/equilibrium constant is a change in temperature.

A catalyst speeds up the the forward and back reaction by the same amount, which does not change the position of equilibrium.

Catalysts are not consumed in a chemical reaction, meaning that they appear in the reactant and product side, so though you could include it into your chemical reaction it is redundant and usually not.
