Autoprotolysis, as defined in the book, is a type of reaction where one molecule transfers a proton to another molecule of the same kind. Is this specific to just H2O or is it any of the same two molecules?

I think it works for anything as long as it follows that guideline

Autoprotolysis can occur between any two identical molecules as long as they have acidic hydrogen and lone pairs to give off (as per wikipedia)

As long as a molecule has a proton to donate and lone pairs to accept a donated proton then it should be able to go through an autoprotolysis reaction
