Why does increasing pressure by adding an inert gas not affect the concentration? Thank you

Adding inert gas does not change the volume and therefore does not change the concentration.
Compressing would physically change the volume
Keep in mind the formula for concentration=n/v
Compressing would increase concentration
Adding moles of other inert gas does not affect other concentrations

Hey! To answer your question, increasing pressure by adding an inert gas doesn't affect concentration because the volume of the system does not change (probably due to there not being a large enough difference in change in volume by adding the gas), and the moles of both reactants and products are not affected either, since inert gases will most likely not be involved in a reaction. That being said, because the moles of reactants and products and the volume all remain constant, there is no change in the reactant and product concentration and so there is no effect on the reaction.
