Solids and Liquids for pressure change
Why don't we consider solids and liquids when pressure is being changed?

Re: Solids and Liquids for pressure change
i'm guessing it's because solids and liquids usually aren't affected by changes in pressure like gases are.

Re: Solids and Liquids for pressure change
Solids and liquids can't be compressed because they have set volumes, while gasses are able to spread out to fill whatever space they are in. Because the change in the reaction is actually a result of a change in volume, solids and liquids, whose volumes are unable to change, aren't affected by pressure changes.
Re: Solids and Liquids for pressure change
Changes in presure have very little effect on the volume of a liquid. Liquids are relatively incompressible because any increase in pressure can only slightly reduce the distance between the closely packed molecules.
