### pressure and volume

How are pressure and volume related, why when you double P that means Volume is halved.

Boyle's Law states that pressure and volume have an inverse relationship when temperature is help constant. That is why double the original pressure would result in half of the original volume.

The formula for Boyle's law is P1V1=P2V2, which illustrates the concept mentioned above.

### Re: pressure and volume

Pressure and volume have an inverse relationship. When a gas is condenses into a smaller space the pressure increases, and when the gas has more space the pressure decreases.

### Re: pressure and volume

When you look at the ideal gas , pv=nrt, the numbers have to be constant, so if p is being doubled v has to be halved since they are being multiplied to balance out and keep the value of nrt constant.
