Why would 5J.11 part b favor the products? I thought there would be no change when heating.

So In 5J.11 b, the equation is X2->2X, where x is a halogen. In this equation, it is essentially breaking a bond, which means it requires energy and is endothermic. In an endothermic reaction, when you raise the temperature, the value of k increases. If k increases, that means the equilibria is favoring more of the products.

I think this is too general of a statement. Endothermic reactions favor the products when the reaction is heated.

So does this mean that breaking the bond if any halogen requires heat? and if there needs to be an input or heat it means it’s endothermic?
