5.33
on problem 5.33, why wouldn't a catalyst produce the image shown in diagram 2? Wouldn't a catalyst cause more product to form? ( I understand why all the other options are correct/incorrect.)

Catalysts increase the rate of the reaction, but emerge unchanged from the reaction, so they do not affect the amount of product formed.

A catalyst only increases the rate of reaction, it would not favor the formation of reactants or products.

Catalysts speed up the rate of a reaction, but they do not affect the amount of reactants or products at all.
