Partial Pressure

Postby Andrea_Torres » Sun Feb 02, 2020 8:48 pm

How do we do partial pressure? What is the difference between partial pressure and regular pressure?

Partial pressure refers to the pressure component of a particular, individual gas in a mixture of gases. Regular pressure might then refer to the total pressure of a mixture of gases.

Partial pressure is calculated by examining a single gas (in a mixture of gases) and identifying what its pressure would be if it occupied its volume on its own. Partial pressure is different from regular pressure, which is simply the pressure generated by all of the gases present in the container.

Partial pressure is the pressure exerted by an individual gas in a reaction. All partial pressures together in a reaction equal the total pressure of the system.

Partial pressure is the pressure of each individual gas while the total pressure is the pressure of the entire system.

partial pressure is specifically the pressure of a specific gas in a mixture or reaction, whereas pressure is the pressure of the entire reaction.

Partial pressure is based upon the pressures of the gases in a reaction.
