Why does it say that there are equal numbers of moles of gasses on both sides for 5J.5 question d?
Is it because of rule of conversation that hydrogens do not disappear hence since there are 2 moles of element D on either side it does not change? Ignoring hydrogen since on the right side it seems to have disappeared?

If you look at the number of moles on each side of the equilibrium, there are exactly 2 moles of HD (g) on the reactant side and there is 1 mole of H2 (g) and 1 mole D2 (g) on the products side. So, using this information the amount of moles on each side are equal, suggesting that there will be no change in the reaction.

By definition of using purely moles would it not be 2 moles of HD and 1 mole of H2 making the reactants side 3 moles. For the products there is 1 mole of D2. Hence there is a disparity in the moles of reactant vs prodcuts?
