Typo in textbook? (6A.19)

Postby kirsten clemente 1E » Wed Feb 01, 2023 11:51 pm

Hello, either I am very wrong, or there could be a typo in the textbook question 6A.19

The question says to calculate the molar concentration of OH- in solutions with the following molar concentrations. In C. its 3.1 mol.L-1,

and my answer was
(10^-14)/(3.1)= [OH-] = 3.23x10^-15

the textbook answer key says
(10^-14)/(3.1x10^-3)= [OH-] = 3.2x10^-12

Did anyone catch this too or am I missing something...

Yes, you are right, the textbook is wrong. The "Student Solutions Manual Errors" file in the 14B Bruin Learn -> Home -> "Getting Started" module says the question should be 3.1*10^-3 M and not just 3.1 M.

Yes! I also noticed this. I think it's a typo because I got the same thing that you did.
