Acidic, Basic, Neutral Salts

Postby Marin_Rice_2D » Sun Dec 10, 2023 11:08 am

When determining if a salt is acidic, basic, or neutral do you take into account how many atoms of each there are? For example, if you have K3PO4, it is K+ (neutral) and PO4- (basic) does the the fact that there is 3 K affect if the salt is basic, acidic, or neutral?

No, the number of ions does not affect whether or not a salt is acidic or basic (whether the pH is above or below 7). It can affect the pH to make it more acidic or basic.
