HF is a weaker acid because of strong hydrogen bonding with water molecules that takes a great amount of energy to break. Also, there is a substantial loss in entropy when HF dissociates. This is due to the F- anion (with its high charge density) instilling a high degree of order in the solution. Generally, greater entropy is favored in a system (more on that when you cover thermodynamics).

The strength of an acid is related more to how well it dissociates (how well it turns into its ions) in water. The smaller the radius of these ions, the harder it is for the atoms in the acid to dissociate. HCl is stronger because it has a larger atomic radius for Cl- than F-. This means it dissociates easier, thus making it a stronger acid.

The strength of an acid is reflected by how completely it dissociates in water. The bond between HF is stronger due to Fluorine's higher electronegativity, so it won't dissociate as much as HCl. Thus, HCl is a stronger acid.

Hi, like some of the others have mentioned, F has a higher electronegativity than Cl, and because of this, the bond between HF is stronger than that of HCl. Since the bond is stronger, it will not dissociate as much in water. The strength of an acid is measured by how much it dissociates in water. Since HF does not dissociate as much as HCl, it is a weaker acid.

The strength of acids and bases is defined by how well they dissociate in H2O. Since fluorine has a higher electronegativity, it is going to be harder to separate HF. HCl will be easier to separate because chlorine is larger, so the molecules will split apart more, making it stronger.

Since the HCl bond is a longer (and thus weaker) bond, its bond breaks easier and thus is more likely to dissociate.

HCl is stronger because since it has a longer bond length, it is easier to break and will dissociate into more H+ ions. More H+ ions means it is more acidic.

HCl is stronger than HF since the H--F bond in HF is much smaller (and hence stronger) than the H--Cl bond in HCl, which means that HF is less likely/requires more energy to lose the H--and we know that strong acids are more likely to disassociate (lose the H+).

When looking at the bond strength, something with less bond strength would be a stronger acid. Therefore, since HCl has a weaker bond strength than HF, it is considered a stronger acid.

Acid strength can be related to the atomic radius trend: as atomic radius increases, the easier it is for these atoms to dissociate, so they are defined as stronger, and vice versa. F is a highly electronegative, small atom, and although Cl is also very electronegative and small, F is slightly smaller, meaning it dissociates a little bit less, and HCl is considered stronger than HF
