F and Cl in acids

Why is HF a weak acid and HCl a strong one, while C2O2HF3 is a stronger acid than C2O2HCl3?

The strengths for these acids depend on different factors. Since the H-F bond is shorter than the H-Cl bond, HF is less likely to dissociate than HCl, so it is a weaker acid. However, in the case of C2O2HF3 and C2O2HCl3, the strength of the acid depends on electronegativity. Since F is more electronegative than Cl, when the acids lose their hydrogen, C2O2F3- will be more stable than C2O2Cl3- since the higher electronegativity of F will help stablize the anion. The more stable the anion the stronger the acid

To add on to the previous response, C2O2HF3 is a stronger than C2O2HCl3, because the F atom is more electronegative than the Cl atom, which means that it will pull pull more electrons from the Oxygen, which thereby makes it easier for the oxygen to loose the H+ ion.
