Strength of Acids vs. Number of Oxygens
Why does the strength of an acid increase with the oxidation number of the central atom and the number of oxygens bonded to the central atom?

Strength of acids can be determined by bond length with the acidic proton, and stability of the resulting anion. OXygens are electron withdrawing atoms which help stabilize the anion and its formal charge.

Because there is more ability for resonance to stabilize the anion after the proton is donated. This means that there is a better distribution of charge and makes the acid more strong.

It increases because the longer the bond, the weaker the bond, and when it deprotonates, the solution will have the strong acidic solution

does the number of hydrogens impact the strength of an acid? does it need to go thru multiple neutralizations to be able to get rid of all the hydrogens and thereby make it weaker?

Yes, if the acid is polyprotic, it will be strongest when it has the most H. For example, H3PO4 is a stronger acid than H2PO4-

But then after the first H is removed, is it the same strength as the other compound?
