Ligands

I'm not sure where to put this so I'm putting it here.

Can anyone explain to me what a porpfyrin ligand is? Might be spelled wrong, but still confusing!

Porphyrin is just a tetradentate ligand. When Porphyrin binds with Iron (Fe), the resulting complex is also called a heme group.

Porphyrin ligands have 4 linked pyrrole rings that coordinate the metal ion

porphyrin is a chelate that binds in 4 places, thus making it tetradentate

cisplatin used to treat various types of cancer. It kills cancer cells by damaging DNA and inhibiting DNA synthesis.
