Weak acids don't fully dissociate in water.

Weak acids will also have an acid dissociation constant, Ka, which tells you how much will dissociate in a reaction.

weak acids have ph 2-7 and strong acids have 0-2

Weak acids usually have low pH values (think 3-7) but not as low as strong acids. Additionally, they do not fully dissociate in water as strong acids do.

Weak acids don't form as low pH of a solution when compared to strong acids. They don't have close to 100% ionization and the reaction in general favors the reactants more.

What does the characteristic of being a weak acid tell us about solving a problem where a weak acid is present? Is the purpose to then know that the base is strong and will fully dissociate?

If there is a weak acid does that always mean there is a strong base that goes with it? If there is a weak base does that mean there's always a strong acid along with it?

Weak acids do not fully disassociate in water. This means that the reaction should favor the side with the weaker acid.

A weak acid at its simplest is an acid doesn't fully ionize when fully disollved in water.

For future reference the strong acids are:
HCL, HNO3, HI, H2SO4, HBr, HCLO4, HLO3

Not only do weak acids not fully dissociate in water, but they also have a smaller Ka value and greater pKa value (Ka and pKa are inverses) because they donate less protons. In solving a problem with a weak acid, you typically would need to set up an ICE chart to determine the unknown concentration of hydronium ions in the solution at equilibrium. This value can then be used to calculate Ka, which is equivalent to the concentration of hydronium ions squared divided by the concentration of the weak acid minus the concentration of hydronium ions.

Compared to a strong acid, which can be identified if it separates into ions 100% when it is dissolved in water. Weak acids do not separate into ions completely when they are dissolved in water. This leaves a high percentage of unreacted molecules in the solution. Additionally, a weak acid has a pH of less than 7, and is usually also less than the value of a strong acid.

Strong acids will have a lower pH than weak acids when you are comparing them at EQUAL concentrations of acid. However, to add on to what others have said, if you were to have a concentrated weak acid compared with a very dilute strong acid, you could technically still have a weak acid with a lower pH than the stronger acid. pH depends on the concentration of hydrogen ions, so you can't guarantee that an acid is stronger or weaker than another by looking at only their pH. Instead, you can compare their Ka values and their tendency to dissociate (higher Ka -> more dissociation -> stronger acid).

A weak acid is one which doesn't ionize fully when it is dissolved in water. Their PH typically ranges from 4-6.

Weak acids don't fully dissociate like strong acids do. They also form stronger conjugate bases than strong acids, have a lower Ka, and a higher pKa value.

The pH and percent dissociation are differentiating factors between strong / weak bases + strong / weak acids
